CPI began developing concrete preservative products in 1987.

CPI realized the potential of developing a product that would protect concrete surfaces such as:

  • Highways
  • Bridges
  • High rise Buildings
  • Piers
  • Sidewalks
  • Virtually any concrete surface

It was recognized early in the project that linseed oil would be the best raw material to help extend the life of concrete. This knowledge came from knowledge gained from processing linseed oil in the
CPI factory.

It was possible to remove the impurities and unnecessary components from the oil by an extraction process developed exclusively by
CPI.

With the assistance of
CPI chemists and support from the University of Manitoba's engineering facilities, a linseed oil that was almost water white resulted.

Testing was done on a continuous basis over seventeen years and resulted in
CPI being able to develop a superior formula leading to today's products.

CPI was able to prove that its preservatives will extend the useful life of most concrete products and reduce the maintenance costs to governments, contractors, and home owners with protection for 20- 25 years
